The Human Services Technology/Substance Abuse program is designed to prepare students for a career in the field of substance use and assist them in the process of State Certification/Licensure. The program also enables students to transfer their credits earned and pursue a four-year degree. Graduates who continue to complete their certification/licensure through the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board qualify for positions as substance use counselors, prevention and education specialists, DWI educators and counselors, residential and halfway house counselors, case managers, community-based program managers and criminal justice addiction professionals.
