The Automotive Transmission/Transaxle Tech Specialist certificate program provides students with the skills to enter the automotive industry as an entry level transmission, transaxle, and drive line technician. Topics covered include: shop safety, basic electrical/electronic theory and diagnosis, manual transmission/transaxle operation and diagnosis, automatic transmission/transaxle operation and diagnosis, axles operation and diagnosis, differentials operation and diagnosis, and 4WD/AWD systems operation and diagnosis.

AUTT 1020 Automotive Electrical Systems Introduces automotive electricity, emphasizes the basic principles, diagnosis, and service/repair of batteries, starting systems, starting system components, alternators and regulators, lighting system, gauges, horn, wiper/washer, and accessories. AUTT 2010 Automotive Engine Repair This course introduces the student to automotive engine theory and repair, placing emphasis on inspection, testing, and diagnostic techniques for both 2 cycle and 4 cycle internal combustion engines.Topics include general engine diagnosis; removal and reinstallation; cylinder heads and valve trains diagnosis and repair; engine blocks assembly diagnosis and repair; lubrication and cooling systems diagnosis and repair.
