Why should I choose this program?

Our program is designed to provide you with the skills required for automotive diagnostics, servicing, and testing. By the time you finish, you will have the ability to solve complex problems through critical analysis, effectively communicate difficult technical information to others, and possess the skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the automotive service industry.

Complex problem-solving and technology are just two of the many skills required to be able to work on a modern, highly sophisticated automobile. Our program not only trains you how to diagnose and repair cars, but also offers you the opportunity to actually do it through hands-on experience. You will receive an in-depth study of the multiple systems found on today’s vehicles, including electrical, fuel, ignition, power, and drive train. You will also learn about standards of safety associated with the automotive service industry and develop the necessary skills to work safely in auto labs and service shop environments. And our Auto Lab contains the latest state-of-the-art equipment currently used to service today’s automobiles, including representative types of various engines, chassis, transmissions, rear axles, and testing equipment.

The HFC Automotive Technology Program allows me to pursue my passion for working on cars and it really is the best program in the area to do that. What better school to go to for automotive technology than the one right in Dearborn, named after the founder of Ford Motor Company?
