This course introduces basic architectural CAD techniques using AutoCAD software. Topics include basic commands and system hardware and software. Upon completion, students should be able to prepare and plot architectural drawings to scale within accepted architectural standards.

Thus, students will need to get the 2017 NEC book. The course is designed for the education and training of the Electrical Level 1 code enforcement official who has the responsibility of inspecting residential and small commercial electrical installations in construction up to 20,000 square feet. Upon completion, course participants will have a better understanding of the Electrical Code of the NC State Building Code and will be able to apply the Code in the inspection field. The Medical Laboratory Technology curriculum prepares individuals to perform clinical laboratory medical lab techsprocedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunohematology that may be used in the maintenance of health and diagnosis/treatment of disease.
Course work emphasizes mathematical and scientific concepts related to specimen collection, laboratory testing and procedures, quality assessment, and reporting/ recording and interpreting findings involving blood and body fluids.
Graduates of the MLT program receive an Associate Degree in Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Laboratory Technology. Graduates will be eligible to take certification examinations given by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification. The associate degree is NOT contingent upon passing a certification or licensure examination.

Course work includes instruction in general studies, biomedical sciences, dental sciences, clinical sciences, and clinical practice. A combination of lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences provide students with detailed knowledge in infection/hazard control, radiography, dental materials, preventive dentistry, and clinical procedures.
Upon graduation, graduates will be classified as a Dental Assistant II (DAII). A Dental Assistant II, as defined by the Dental Laws of North Carolina, can perform all legal expanded functions prescribed by a NC licensed dentist. Some of the many expanded functions a DA II can legally perform are: apply sealants, insert matrix bands and wedges, place cavity bases and liners, place and/or remove rubber dams, place and remove temporary restorations, take wax bites, remove sutures, expose radiographs, and perform coronal polish.

This class will help students gain the knowledge needed to acquire a CDL-B permit. The class will cover benefits of having a CDL, safe driving techniques, CDL requirements, CDL Endorsements and review the CDL handbook including testing tips.

There are two phases (classes), students are required to complete basic navigation in NCFAST, DSS terminology, keyboarding, computer skills, and complete a Work Keys assessment in Phase I to continue to Phase II: Income Maintenance Caseworker Training. Completing both phases of the course doesn’t guarantee someone a job with DSS, but those who complete the entire program, would be eligible to apply, and preference will be given for any Income Maintenance Caseworker position with DSS, throughout the entire State of North Carolina. Alamance Community College is an authorized Cisco Networking Academy, with offerings within the CCNA Routing & Switching series. By delivering Cisco approved curriculum and incorporating hands-on labs, ACC provides students with knowledge aligned with the Cisco CCENT and CCNA certification exams.
