This program prepares students to use tools to create and edit AutoCAD drawings and to sit for the Autodesk AutoCAD Certified User exam. Students learn the marketable 2-D design skills.

Our short-term training opportunities can prepare you to start as an entry-level technician or to enter formal apprenticeship training, combining on-the-job training with time in school. Prepare to be a Maryland Certified Stationary Engineer at AACC. If you have experience in facilities maintenance, HVAC systems or boiler maintenance and would like to prepare for the Maryland Board of Stationary Engineers licensing exam, then you will want to consider this important exam preparation training from AACC. Stationary engineers and boiler operators control and maintain ventilation and air systems, including boilers, chillers, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, condensers and compressors, and the Maryland Board of Stationary Engineers requires all people providing stationary engineer services in Maryland to be licensed.

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) in partnership Independent Electrical Contractors Chesapeake (IECC) and Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation (AAWDC) are pleased to offer a 12-week training program that will prepare you for an entry level position as a Low Voltage Technician. The training includes: Instruction in smart home and media room installation, installation and maintaining wiring such as security systems, fire alarms, lighting and media systems and telecommunications equipment, OSHA 10, CPR and more!

In partnership with Independent Electrical Contractors, Chesapeake (IECC), in Laurel, the Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical program is designed to prepare you to enter and succeed in a registered Electrical Apprenticeship program. You will learn from an industry professional while participating in classroom and online instruction with hands-on lab training at IECC. Along with gaining valuable industry knowledge, you will also obtain OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid certifications, while preparing for entry into a registered apprenticeship. Job placement assistance is available upon successful completion of the program.

Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with related professional instruction. In a four-year period, candidates complete the required 7500 hours of supervised on-the-job work experience and learn the skills and knowledge that will help you to pass the State Journey test.

An apprentice is a highly committed student who works full-time under the direction of a skilled supervisor while attending classes in an effort to earn a license or certification in their field.

After successful completion of Maryland Department of Labor (MDOL) registered apprenticeship program and earning an industry certification and/or license, students are eligible to apply for the Skilled Professional Trades Management (A.A.S.) Degree program

MIG Welding Certified Training: Prepare material, perform fillet, and groove welds in carbon steel in all positions. Practice geared toward structural welding code vertical and overhead tests. Students receive classroom and hands-on training using the latest welding equipment available in the industry. We offer daytime and evening classes throughout the year.

STICK Welding Certified Training: Prepare material, perform fillet, and groove welds in carbon steel using E7018 electrodes in all positions. Geared toward structural welding code vertical and overhead tests. Students receive classroom and hands-on training using the latest welding equipment available in the industry. TIG Welding Certified Training: Gain skills in the gas tungsten arc process. Prepare material and perform flat, horizontal, and vertical fillet welds and flat groove welds in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Geared toward AWS D9.1 specification for fusion welding for aerospace applications. Students receive classroom and hands-on training using the latest welding equipment available in the industry. We offer daytime and evening classes throughout the year.

You’ll gain a broad overview of cooking and baking techniques, becoming qualified for a number of entry-level food-preparation positions in industries such as hotels, clubs, airlines, cruise ships or restaurants.

You'll be prepared for entry level employment in the hospitality industry such as in a restaurant, hotel or bakery. This certificate builds toward a Hotel/Restaurant Management degree, in either the Baking and Pastry Arts concentration or the Culinary Arts concentration. This also contains prerequisite courses for either the Culinary Arts certificate or the Baking and Pastry certificate.

Join the high-growth field of health care as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with training from Anne Arundel Community College.

Our experienced and credentialed professional faculty will prepare you for a rewarding career working with patients in a clinical health care setting in areas such as physicians’ offices, managed care organizations, outpatient care and certain functions within a hospital. Once you successfully complete the CCMA program, you are eligible to sit for certification examinations given by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

This accredited program prepares students for employment in physicians' offices, hospital administrative offices, clinics, medical departments of industry and government and wherever basic office and clinical skills are required. Graduates are eligible to sit for certification examinations given by the American Association of Medical Assistants to become a Certified Medical Assistant, the American Medical Technologists to earn a Registered Medical Assistant Certification, and the National Health Care Association for Certified Medical Assistants and/or Medical Administrative Assistants.

The Medical Assisting degree at AACC provides students with the tenets of management and supervision in a healthcare setting such as, budget preparation and management, human resource management, and general management of a physician office or health setting.

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant program is designed for students interested in pursuing an entry level career in healthcare. The courses prepare students for the Maryland Nurse Aid Written Examination and Skills Evaluation as well as the Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification exam, which are necessry to obtain a job as a Maryland State certified CNA/GNA.

Would you like to work in a hospital or long-term care facility assisting nurses and medical staff? Prepare to earn your license as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with training from AACC. Learn to perform duties such as answering patients' call lights, serving meals, making beds and helping patients eat, dress and bathe. As a CNA you’ll work shifts during the day, evening or overnight.

The Dental Assisting and Radiology program is offered as a package of three courses, providing you with the skills to get and keep a job as a dental assistant.

Students learn the basic concepts of medical nutrition, therapy, food service operations and human resource functions. Other responsibilities include directing and controlling menu planning, food purchasing, food production and service.

Training consists of a six noncredit courses that provide academic and clinical/field education. This program is designed for nurses (registered nurses and licensed practical nurses) who need to get back into the work force, but have allowed their nursing license to expire.

A licensed practical nurse or LPN performs a variety of tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. These tasks may include administering medicine, measuring and recording vitals, and providing general bedside care. AACC’s 41-credit Practical Nursing program offers opportunities to work with state-of-the-art equipment and is approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Students gain hands-on clinical experience in hospitals, on acute medical-surgical, obstetrical, and pediatric units; in extended care and rehabilitation facilities; with home health and community health agencies; and through outpatient psychiatric experiences. This evening and weekend program takes one academic year to complete.

The Medical Coding certificate is comprised of 41 to 45 credits and is designed to be completed within 16 months. AACC also offers the only Medical Coding (MDC) certificate that presents the majority of its courses online.Students who successfully complete the MDC program are eligible to sit for the Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) national certification exam offered through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam offered through the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Students in the Medical Laboratory Technician program learn about the immune system, blood cells and blood banking procedures. In the clinical chemistry laboratory, students learn how to diagnose bacteria in patient samples and analyze samples for drugs of abuse, cholesterol and glucose. In their sophomore spring semester, students rotate through four different hospital or clinical laboratory departments.Graduates of the Medical Laboratory Technician program are prepared to take a national credentialing examination.

The Physical Therapist Assistant program is administered by the Chesapeake Area Consortium for Higher Education (CACHE) comprised of Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), Chesapeake College and the College of Southern Maryland (CSM).

Students complete the general education requirements at their home college. Physical therapist assistant classes are held at AACC. Clinical practice rotations are completed at local service areas when possible.

Anne Arundel Community College offers a two-year, seven-term Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Radiologic Technology. Students also are eligible to sit for the National American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam and to apply for Maryland Licensure. Graduates of the Radiology program also are eligible to take the noncredit, 40-hour didactic course in mammography.

Anne Arundel Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Surgical Technology upon successful completion of the 66-credit program.

Our Diesel Mechanic program is delivered through an intensive, hands-on lab approach allowing you to concentrate on practical skills, education and execution alongside supplemental online curriculum. Anne Arundel Community College's Cyber and Technology Training department offers preparation classes that will help you get ready for success on the CompTIA A+ exams.

Start your career as a first responder with the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT 105) course. This 15-week, 10-credit course offers 128 hours of lecture and 52 hours of laboratory so students finish the course ready to start in the EMT field. The course focuses on the fundamentals of EMT training, including control of the emergency scene, patient assessment, and management of patients in the field or in transit, and prepares students for state and national certification.

The Paramedic certificate program is for individuals with current EMT certification looking to further their education and earn a certificate as a paramedic. This program is designed to provide students with hands-on training and the skills necessary to serve as a patient's first point of care in a health care setting, on inter-hospital transport, or with local emergency medical services.
