CNAs are often employed in nursing care facilities, where they frequently serve as principal caregivers. They often have more contact with residents than other members of the staff, and their responsibilities often include answering call lights; communicating with residents, families, and staff; serving meals; making beds; and tidying residents' rooms.

Nursing Assistants may also be responsible for taking residents’ temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, or blood pressure. They also help provide care to residents by assisting them with getting into and out of bed and walking, escorting them to the dining room or appointments, or providing assistance with skin care.

Blinn offers day, night, and online course options for its 160-hour Pharmacy Technician Program. Blinn College’s Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology degree curriculum incorporates general education, technical education, radiographic laboratory and practicum experience. In hospitals and outpatient clinics, students will be able to integrate classroom and laboratory instruction with the clinical component.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for state licensure and will be prepared to complete the credentialing examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Graduates will have opportunities for career advancement into a variety of specialties, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT).

Through this program, students learn to set up and operate machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools. To prepare graduates for the jobs of tomorrow, all Blinn manufacturing technician students are trained on computer numerical control (CNC) lathes, which rapidly are replacing older production lathes due to their ease of setting, operation, repeatability, and accuracy. The program also includes instruction in industrial safety, precision measurement, and production quality. Additionally, Blinn’s Hodde Center has strong relationships with local businesses, helping many students to identify job opportunities prior to graduation.

The Blinn College District Truck Driving Program teaches students to conduct pre-trip, on-the-road, and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections. Other skills include map reading, managing log books and cargo documentation, dispatch procedures, emergency responsibilities, and transportation agency regulations.

Students also learn road safety guidelines and specific laws applicable to professional drivers.
