Welcome to the El Camino College EMT program! Emergency Medical Technicians are professional medical responders that have the opportunity to help ill and injured patients in various scenes and emergency situations. EMT principles that are covered throughout this course include, but are not limited to: leadership, followership, communication, safety, situational awareness, scene size-up, problem-solving, decision making, patient assessment and professionalism. EMT students learn about the practices and procedures through lecture, skills lab, simulations, role-playing, tactical decision games and 24 hours of field experience. Students who successfully complete all 170 hours with an overall grade of 80% (B) or better will qualify to take the NREMT computerized adaptive test, and then once successfully passed, go on to become a licensed Emergency Medical Technician.

The Digital Arts Certificate program offers a wide range of classes designed to prepare students for employment in one of six areas of emphasis: Graphic Design, Illustration, Digital Photography, Web Design, Computer Animation, and Motion Graphics. Classes also appeal to students currently employed and wishing to upgrade their professional skills, or to those pursuing transfer. After completing the same foundation of studio art and design classes, students choose which of the six areas of specialization to pursue and then follow the sequence of courses leading to that area's certificate. Student proficiencies are demonstrated by in-class exercises, creative projects, objective tests, and critiques. Program assessment is measured by portfolios, exhibitions, juried competitions, program completion, and periodic program review. Students will build a portfolio and develop skills qualifying them for entry into a wide variety of design professions requiring proficiency in the use of digital media.

This program is a diagnostic medical radiography program leading to an A.S. Degree and eligibility to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registry Exam (ARRT) for an R.T. license.

Once the graduate obtains the ARRT (R) licensure and the CRT (RT) certification from the CDPH-RHB in California, the graduate can apply for employment as a fully licensed and certified Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and may apply to take the Fluoroscopy Permit License exam. After successful completion of the fluoroscopy exam, the RT will received the CDPH-RHB CRT (R,F) certification.

A Certificate of Achievement will be granted to the student completing the requirements for the Mortgage Loan Brokerage, Real Estate, or Real Estate Appraisal Options. Courses must be completed with a 3.0 (B) average. A minimum of 10 units must be completed at El Camino College.

The degree or certificates are designed to provide students with competencies to enter careers in residential and commercial real estate appraisal, escrow, exchange, development, investment, leasing, property management, sales, and title insurance. The program meets legislatively mandated education for the California Bureau of Real Estate (BRE) salesperson and broker license exams as well as the California Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers (BREA) license exam. Courses are approved by the BRE and BREA for basic and continuing education, including computer applications and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Competences are assessed using projects and exams.
