Emergency Medical Technicians are professional medical responders that have the opportunity to help ill and injured patients in various scenes and emergency situations. EMT principles that are covered throughout this course include, but are not limited to: leadership, followership, communication, safety, situational awareness, scene size-up, problem-solving, decision making, patient assessment and professionalism. EMT students learn about the practices and procedures through lecture, skills lab, simulations, role-playing, tactical decision games and 24 hours of field experience. Students who successfully complete all 170 hours with an overall grade of 80% (B) or better will qualify to take the NREMT computerized adaptive test, and then once successfully passed, go on to become a licensed Emergency Medical Technician.

The degree or certificates are designed to provide students with competencies to enter careers in residential and commercial real estate appraisal, escrow, exchange, development, investment, leasing, property management, sales, and title insurance. The program meets legislatively mandated education for the California Bureau of Real Estate (BRE) salesperson and broker license exams as well as the California Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers (BREA) license exam.
