Our Phlebotomy program is two quarters in length. The first quarter, Hlth 220, is the lecture and classroom portion, and the second quarter, Hlth 221, the externship experience. The combination of these two classes prepares graduates to work as phlebotomist. The primary responsibility of a phlebotomist is to collect blood for laboratory analysis. Upon successful course completion students are eligible to sit for the national certification exam through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
