

The NHSC Human Services Addiction Studies associate’s degree curriculum provides the paraprofessional level of competencies needed to become an addiction-helping professional with the potential to transfer to a four-year college. An associate’s degree in addiction studies provides theoretical knowledge about the nature, etiology and treatment of alcohol and other drug issues. The program focuses on science-based addiction education to prepare you for career opportunities in the addiction profession.

View on provider's websiteNHSC’s Elementary Education Program includes an associate of arts degree, which also allows you to advance into the four-year elementary education degree program. You must earn the associate’s degree before being accepted into the bachelor’s degree program unless special permission is granted by the program director.

You will study a range of specialties, but should specialize in one field by choosing your electives, student internship and field research.
