

This certificate is intended for those students who have completed a bachelor’s degree and are seeking licensure for Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor (LADC) through the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. It satisfies the 270 hours of classroom clock hours required and the 880 hours practicum hours (2 courses of Practicum are equal to 880 hours) required to obtain a license in the State of Minnesota. The A.A.S. program is designed to provide the training appropriate for beginning employment in a human services occupation. Students that are interested in obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Social Work will need to additionally obtain an A.A. degree in liberal arts for a streamlined transfer to a four-year university or college.

You will obtain the educational background and practical experience necessary to provide young children (birth to age eight) of varying abilities with developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
You will also explore universal promotion, secondary prevention, and tertiary intervention approaches to educate and care for children with challenging behaviors. One or two welder certifications may be available. The Advanced Level Welding Technology Program is a 65 credit, 4 semester program (including the ELW Program) that is optional upon completion of the Entry Level Program. Its successful completion gives the graduate another diploma. Several more welder certifications are available.

In addition, students will explore 3D media, gain insight into cost estimating and print management, and explore industry, first-hand, through guided tours.
In the second year of the program, students will experience everything from photography to becoming a designer by utilizing the industry standard in design software, the Adobe Creative Suite (CS). Adobe CS is a powerful and ever-adapting suite of software that includes InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver, all of which students will be trained to use in an efficient manner, so they can concentrate on design.
From designing a logo or printed piece, all the way to learning website design and photography, you learn it in your second year in Graphic Design Media.
