The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course at Mineral Area College is an intense, semester long course. In addition to the regularly scheduled class sessions, there will be several Saturday courses that are required. Students should plan on 8-10 hours of self-study time, every week, in addition to class time. All EMT students will be required to complete hospital clinical experience as well as field experience on an ambulance. These requirements are in addition to all classroom sessions and are scheduled outside of class time. Students will be required to purchase a uniform and specific EMT equipment.
