It also provides counseling education and training for social services and human resource professionals concerned with addicted individuals and their families.
The Substance Abuse Counseling program is accredited by the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) and meets the association's requirements to sit for the CADC (Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor) certification examination.
IAODAPCA certification means that the counselor has demonstrated the knowledge, skills and core functions necessary to provide quality care to individuals seeking treatment of their alcohol and/or other drug abuse or dependence.

Oakton’s automotive technology curriculum fulfills the requirements for entry-level technician positions stated by Automotive Service Educational foundation (ASE) training for related instruction in this highly skilled trade.
Classes meet day and evening, and students may complete the program with four years of part-time study.
Students who complete the related automotive technology instruction training will receive one or both certificates. Students also have the possibility of on-the-job training. Those who complete 60 semester hours, which include general education requirements along with the automotive instruction courses will earn an associate in applied science degree.
