skills in the field of Mental Health. Students who successfully
complete the requirements for this nine-unit Proficiency Award
will acquire a basic understanding and appreciation of mental
health services, policy, roles in counseling and interviewing,

also serve the needs of incumbent workers seeking to advance
in their existent position within the field of mental health. In
addition, the required courses connected to this proficiency
award will serve as a career pathway for high school students
