Students may choose to pursue an Associate of Arts degree (AA), Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) or Certificate program. Within the degree programs students can choose between the Family Services option or the Child Development option. The A.A. Family Services and Child Development Program, Child Development Option at Rose State College is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, www.naeyc.org. The accreditation term runs from July 2018 through July 2025. (NAEYC Program Outcome Data). Both the AAS degree program and the AA program require 62 hours of college credit; each program requires a significant number of credits in general education; i.e., English Composition, History, American Federal Government, life science and physical science. Approved by the American Bar Association since 1976, Paralegal Studies at Rose State is a two-year program offering day and evening classes. A paralegal is an individual who is educated and trained to assist a practicing attorney. Paralegals, also called legal assistants, perform a wide variety of duties and tasks which are professional in nature, distinct from routine clerical tasks. A primary responsibility of a paralegal is to relieve the supervising attorney of routine duties so that the attorney is able to use his/her time in more complex areas of the case. Proper use of a paralegal/legal assistant enables an attorney to handle a heavier case load and increase productivity, thereby resulting in the delivery of legal services to a client more efficiently and economically. The Paralegal Studies Program is designed to prepare the student with the necessary knowledge and skills to gain employment as a paralegal/legal assistant and/or to allow the student to advance to positions of increasing responsibility in the legal field. The program is not offered to train attorneys or legal administrators.

There are a total of 36 weeks in the professional phase of the program. Students are considered full-time students for the 3 semesters. Classroom, laboratory and clinic sessions are scheduled five days a week (usually all day) during the 36 weeks; some evening courses may be scheduled. Specialized accrediting agencies exist to assess and verify educational quality in particular professions of occupations to ensure that individuals will be qualified to enter those disciplines. A specialized accrediting agency recognizes the course of instruction which comprises a unique set of skills and knowledge, develops accreditation standards by which such education programs is evaluated, conducts evaluation of programs, and publishes a list of accredited programs that meet national accreditation standards. Accreditation standards are developed in consultation with those affected by the standards that represent the broad communities of interest.

The Dental Hygiene Program has maintained accreditation through the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation since 1972. The Dental Assisting Program has maintained accreditation through the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation since 1982. Both Programs currently have A-1 accreditation with no reporting requirements. This status is the highest possible status. Site accreditation visits are scheduled every seven years. Graduates of this state-approved program are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered nurses. Applicants for Oklahoma licensure must meet all state and federal requirements to hold an Oklahoma license to practice nursing. In addition to completing a state-approved nursing education program that meets educational requirements and successfully passing the licensure examination, requirements include submission of an application for licensure, a criminal history records search, and evidence of citizenship or qualified alien status [59 O.S. §§567.5 & 567.6]. To be granted a license, an applicant must have the legal right to be in the United States (United States Code Chapter 8, Section 1621). In addition, Oklahoma law only allows a license to be issued to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and legal permanent resident aliens.
