Yancey’s Technician Boot Camp is an accelerated four to six month program, working with an intact team of five total trainees with one instructor. The program will build your technical confidence through a comprehensive program of academic and hands on training. You will gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of how things work, processes and procedures and safety requirements. A comprehensive tool set / tool box (worth approximately $7000) will be provided for use during the apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of the program, and two additional years of employment as a technician, the tools and tool box become yours! This is NOT a degreed program but a full time employment position including benefits. Starting pay for the Boot Camp is $16.50 per hour. Upon completion of the program and two months of on the job training, pay will increase to $20.00 per hour plus a personal monthly incentive bonus. At this point the candidate will be enrolled in the technician Career Development program where they will receive additional training that can lead to level changes and additional pay increases each year.

The program will build your technical confidence through a comprehensive program of hands-on and academic orientated training, mentoring by a senior technician, and real-time assessments in the actual shop and work settings. View on provider's websiteThinkBig is a two-year specialized program for those technically minded, hands-on individuals with a desire to start a career as Power Generation technician but still want the college experience and degree. ThinkBIG students alternate every eight weeks between South Georgia Technical College and their sponsoring Yancey Bros. Co. branch, where they put their learning into practice in paid internships. Students learn how to work with Diesel, Electronics, and Power Generation in the classroom and then get the opportunity to put those new found skills to work in a real working environment. Students will also receive a comprehensive tool set / tool box (worth approximately $7000) for use during the internship and school. Upon successful completion of the program, and two additional years of employment as a technician, the tools and tool box become yours! Upon graduating, students earn an Associate Degree in Applied Technology, have two years of experience with Yancey Bros Co and could have the opportunity to immediately transfer over as a full-time employee. The student will also be enrolled in Yancey Bros Co technician Career Development program where they will receive additional training that can lead to level changes and additional pay increases each year.
